Sausages

Ingredients:

2-3 sausages per person cut into 1 inch pieces.
Chopped potatoes
Chopped onions
Tins of tomatoes
Garlic and herbs.

Method:

Toss sausages onions and potatoes in olive oil with the garlic and herbs. Put in a roasting tin at 180 degrees for 40 minutes until sausage and potatoes are nearly cooked, then add the tomatoes and finish cooking.

Fruit Biscuits

Ingredients as follows:

175g flour
1/4tsp baking powder
1 egg
175g demerara sugar
100g butter or marge
100g dried fruit (dried papaya, pineapple etc)
tsp vanilla essence

Cream butter and sugar
Add beaten egg and vanilla
Sift in flour
Add dried fruit
Cook in preheated oven 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes

This simple idea is in the Messy Church book, but just to get you started off I've included it here too:

Serve up the pasta and peas from the kitchen.

Have bowls of sauce and bowls of grated cheese out on the tables to be dished up by parents or teenagers.

It takes too long to put everything on a plate in the kitchen and get it out to people hot.
