Messy Church – where is it going?
A Consultation Day
Saturday 14th September 9.30am for 10.00am until 3.00pm
The John Godber Centre, Ogle Street, Hucknall, NG15 7FQ

There has been real growth – sometimes phenomenal growth from nothing - in Messy Churches around our Diocese. We want to celebrate the real success and also ask one very important question about the future at this day’s consultation.
How will there still be a Messy Church in ten year’s time?
Of course this question covers a whole load of other questions which will be revealed on the day – questions like how we can develop Messy Church to keep the young people and families we have? What happens, if and when they get bored with the format? Will families keep coming when the children are tweenagers and then teenagers? How can Messy Church be a Church which is integrated with what already exists?
We will work on the principle that God has given his church all the resources it needs in the people He has sent to it. So we believe that the answers to these questions are to be found in you, should you attend this day. We will use a process called Open Space Technology to help us answer the question together.
Anyone from our diocese who leads or attends a Messy Church is welcome to the day as long as they are prepared to get stuck in and come up with some answers about the future. We believe God will send us those who are meant to be there.
‘Messy Church – what next?’ is an opportunity for people from across the diocese to come together, share their ideas, and think about how to develop their Messy Church activities so that they are truly Church for now and the future.

Nick Harding and Nigel Rooms will facilitate the day.
