Messy Church events in Norfolk!

30 March 2008

I recently led a couple of training events on Messy Church in Norwich Diocese, and the response was huge, with about 70 people at both morning and afternoon events, and a waiting list, meaning that before the day took place, the organizer had signed me up for a follow-up day in November.

These were mini-Fiestas in a way, designed to get people equipped for starting Messy Church in their own parishes or areas - lots of rural benefices were there, many as groups of people rather than individuals, which was healthy and meant they could discuss very practically how to go forward. They seemed to enjoy the crafts; one lady gloating over her pencil top friend, saying, 'This is the first thing I've ever made!' It will be interesting to see how things develop in this very rural, very far-reaching diocese.

Have you considered hosting a Messy Fiesta or Messy Church training for your area? Get in touch with other local churches, and then have a look at the Training section of the Messy Church website, and get in touch.
