Returning to Messy Church Safely *NEW*

Many Messy Churches are wondering about meeting face-to-face again after many months apart. We have provided some suggestions for how this might be done safely.

Weird times

We can do so much as Messy Churches in these weird times. It’s inspiring to see so many Messy Churches doing so much to keep in touch with, support and resource their Messy families. The creativity and hospitality of Messy Church is going way beyond a once-a-month gathering, and the celebration is needed more than ever as we walk through this difficult time together, keeping Christ at the centre of all we do.

Here at The Bible Reading Fellowship (BRF), we want you to know we’re here to support you and to do whatever we can to cheer you on on your own frontline. It might be by sharing the ideas you’re creating with the wider network or providing resources geared to Messy needs for you to share with your families. It might be meeting online via social media or simply thanking you for a job well done.

Let us know if you can help others in the network through your ideas or resources. Let us know how we can help you. Let us know what you need. And thank you for everything you are and everything you do in Jesus’ name. Maybe we are here 'for such a time as this’.

Messy Church Outdoors

We’ve created some simple, free suggestions to take the Get Messy! sessions outdoors for a shorter (chillier!), more active session that makes the most of being outside but sticks to the same theme.

Messy Church at home

A growing collective of creative ideas for all-age prayer time for families at home. There is a set of sessions based on the Holy Habits explored in Holy Habits in Messy Church, and one a week from April to the start of August.

Messy Adventure

On Ascension Day (Thursday 21 May) we set out on the speediest round-the-world trip ever, to celebrate the amazing international Messy Church community and to bring a little joy to the day. We set sail (virtually), took off (in our imaginations) and revved our (digital) engines for a whole day of Mess!

These hour-long videos (or less) are all still available for you or your Messy families to watch. Check out the playlist of videos to disover how we journeyed through the Bible with worship, storytelling, prayer, food for thought and all sorts of Messy fun.

Social media

Please consider following our social media as we are posting a lot more resources and ideas there in addition to what is on this website.
