Join us for the second Messy Church International Conference (MCIC). This is an unmissable opportunity to learn new approaches and ideas, to be inspired and inspire others, to make new friends and enjoy the company of old ones. It will be a gathering of Messy Church practitioners and friends from around the world, from all denominations with stories to share, experiences to pass on and wisdom to build up the Messy network from hugely different countries and cultures. The conference will be in English.

Keynote speakers

We have three fantastic speakers lined up to help us explore the vital area of discipleship in Messy Church.

  • Claire Dalpra from the Church Army Research Unit has been heading up far-reaching research across the UK into discipleship in Anglican Messy Churches. 
  • Andrew Roberts from the Methodist Church is the author of the influential book on Christian discipleship, Holy Habits (Malcolm Down Publishing, 2016) and the editor of BRF's Holy Habits booklets
  • Our own Lucy Moore from the BRF Messy Church team will share inspiration from the team’s insights into Messy discipleship.


In addition to the talks, there will be a full, fun and inspiring programme of Messy Church discussions, workshops, hands-on experiences and the chance to make Messy friends around the world, all in the comfortable surroundings, beautiful grounds and excellent hospitality of the High Leigh Conference Centre. Post-conference key leaders gathering

There will be the option for a smaller number of key national representatives to stay on until 4.30 pm on Monday 6 May in order to have space to spend time with the BRF team and to discuss national issues. In the first instance, places at this gathering will be allocated to ensure a wide spread of countries can be represented. After a set date, any spare places will be released for others to take up if desired.

There will be an additional cost of £100 per person which will cover all meals and accommodation during that time, up to and including afternoon tea on Monday.
