One Big Day Conference

Date: Saturday, 2 November 2019 - 9:00am to 5:00pm
Venue: Northgate High School, Northgate, Dereham, Norfolk NR19 2EU

Join us for this 'One Big Day' conference!

Come and explore with your team, volunteers and others what it means to develop a culture of discipleship across generations, abilities, geographical boundaries and in the wider community to Grow Everyday Faith with children, young people and households.

Bringing together national speakers and projects, there will be insightful and thought-provoking keynotes, seminar streams throughout the day to help you unpack some of the potential and possibilities for your own work and setting, as well as resource stands and a service of commissioning.

Seminars will include:

  • Pioneering intergenerational church - What can we learn from the Messy Church model and how today's church can successfully encompass a fully intergenerational approach to worshipping and doing life together in community.
  • Inclusion - What it means for church to be relevant and accessible for all people of any age and ability, and steps to achieving this.
  • Nurturing faith in families - Exploring ways for families to experience and express faith together and how church can encourage and foster this in households.
  • Prayer spaces in schools: 'Everyday faith' - How we encourage young people to build faith in schools; research and conversations on spirituality.
  • Connecting and growing your Open the Book ministry - In what ways Open the Book teams can extend their school connections and how these connections link to wider church ministries.
  • Baptism, christening and liturgy - How you can make the most of connecting with families through these special occasions and continue the story.
  • The Golden Thread - A discussion on developing a long-term strategy, what it means to 'go long' and build church that builds disciples.
  • Youth Culture - What the trends are in youth culture and how can you meet the challenges.
