Welcome David Mason, the new Regional Coordinator for the Lichfield, Cannock and Tamworth region of South Staffordshire. We are delighted that David will be supporting the Messy Churches here and that his Messy enthusiasm can be shared.

David says, ‘Just after I became a member of the regular worshipping community at Lichfield Cathedral, there was a request for volunteers to help with a new Messy Church that was being set up there. I went along (albeit rather reluctantly) to the first one just to help serve the refreshments. Due to the shortage of volunteers, I ended up leading an activity that involved making candles out of cardboard tubes. I was hooked! I really enjoyed the whole experience and went home with a real buzz and a feeling that this was something God had called me to do, and I have been at almost every one since, usually leading the messiest activity. I am now involved in the planning and preparation for the monthly sessions. At a recent conference for English Cathedrals, in Manchester, the Archbishop of Canterbury said that cathedrals should be fun - we are certainly doing our best to comply with that!’
