Welcome Viv Binns as Messy Church Regional Coordinator for the New Forest in Hampshire!

Viv says: 'I have a very interesting and sometimes mind-blowing life! We have six children, four of whom are adopted, with all that came with them exploding in the teenage years! We have all survived, with plenty of support from our church community. My working life started as a nurse at the London Hospital. Gradually I changed track and worked as a Lead Specialist Learning Support Assistant in a special school for emotionally behavioural secondary school-aged boys and girls and then at Brockenhurst Community College. I have lived in many cities: Portsmouth, Guildford, Birmingham, Manchester and Leicester, where I was involved in church projects with the homeless, refugees and asylum seekers, and also with Sunday school, toddler groups, afternoon teas for the elderly, home groups and more.

'Then we returned to Hampshire - what a culture shock. From quick, quick, quick to slow, slow, slow. I started Messy Church as a leader about eight years ago. This in itself has been a challenge. We enjoy working with the community with a keen team.'
