Welcome Lydia Harrison, new Messy Church Regional Coordinator for York and East. Lydia will be supporting around 40 Messy Churches and is looking forward to communicating and praying with them and supporting them.

Lydia says, 'I'm 32 and married to Mark. My favourite colour is purple and I have a large collection of cuddly cows and other cow-related items. My favourite food is chocolate and cake, preferably chocolate cake! I love music and sing wherever and whenever I can.

'I've been part of the Methodist Church for most of my life, growing up in Oldham in Lancashire then moving to York in 2005 for my Theology degree at York St John. I completed my Local Preacher training in 2013 and enjoy leading alternative and creative worship. I was the Messy Church coordinator at Huntington Methodist Church and I still help at Thornton-Le-Clay. I have just taken on the role of Children and Family Work Enabler in the Goole and Selby Methodist Circuit, which has eight Messy Churches in various places. I have a passion for Messy Church, as I think it is really important to help everyone understand the love of God and what this can mean in their lives, and to build a relationship with him at home as well as at church. I hope to build up communities of faith which can encourage, strengthen and support one another as we journey with Christ.'
