Welcome to Nigel Mawdsley, who is the new Regional Coordinator for Southport, Merseyside. We are delighted with Nigel's appointment and he is keen to visit and support the Messy Churches in the region. We are also encouraged by the Messy Methodist ministry which takes place in this region. Watch this space.

Nigel says, 'I was born at a very early age and, although I would have loved a career as a pop star, my employment paths took me through butchering, social housing, family and children's work and my current role is Pastoral and Outreach Worker for Lord Street West URC and Victoria Methodist Church in Southport. I am married with three grown-up daughters. I am a Methodist Local Preacher, play guitar and sing in a rock band called 'Rhyming With Orange' and my hobbies are guitar-playing, songwriting, reading, walking and watching and playing most sports, injuries allowing. I love the music of Sweet and The Kinks; support Liverpool, Southport and Forfar Athletic football clubs; and it is only a rumour that when I sunbathe on any beach in the world Greenpeace appear and try to drag me out to sea…'
