Ideas based on Mark 10: 17-21 - The story of the rich young man

Sue Kalbfleisch, our Regional Coordinator in Canada, shares some great ideas based on Mark 10:17-21 (the story of the rich young man) and calls the theme 'Messy giveaways'. It focuses on the message of caring for others and giving to others. So, instead of making things during the activity time to take home for yourself, she created some special activities to make things to give away. Downloads:

Christian Aid Messy Church session

Messy Church and Christian Aid have enjoyed getting together to produce this Messy Church session based on the work of Christian Aid around the world. You could use it to explore our global Christian faith and to encourage your congregation to look outwards at the great work Christian Aid is doing with families in different countries. The session is about global justice and action against poverty because of God’s love for all his people rather than fundraising. Enjoy!

Messy Remembrance

On the Sunday nearest to 11 November, most churches hold a Service of Remembrance, marking the day when World War I ended; and this year (2018) is the 100th anniversary of the end of that war. Nowadays, we also remember all those who have lost their lives fighting in subsequent wars, and a two-minute silence is kept at 11.00 am.

Messy Month 2014

For Messy Month 2014, we've decided to celebrate the gift of family in its widest sense - both the messily diverse families who come to Messy Churches, the messy family of the church into which we've been adopted and the messy family that is the community in which we live - locally and globally. So we celebrate the sense of being family - being connected, being significant to others - whether we're single or married, young or old, with or without children, in stable relationships or short term ones.

Messy Month 2013

Messy Month is a chance to celebrate what God is doing in your Messy Church and in Messy Churches across the world

Authorised Mess

We asked 66 Messy Churches from anywhere in the world to choose a book of the Bible and to write a Messy Church outline on a story, verse or theme from that book. The end of the project saw 37 completed. These Messy Church sessions are available to use for free. View the books of the Bible below and download.

Messy Month 2012

Messy Month is a chance to celebrate and share all the Messy news and information with your other church congregations, inviting them to be part of the Messy ministry in prayerful, practical and financial ways, and to thank God for all he's doing through our Messy Churches.
