Meet the Writers and Readers team

We’re a team of skilled communicators, who share Messy Church stories and ideas across the network through posts, articles and blogs. We’re also happy to read or view resources to see if they’re helpful to other Messy Churches.

Meet the team below.

Hannah Tarring

I am currently the coordinator of Melksham Messy Church and Children & Families Coordinator in Melksham, Wiltshire. Messy Church is such a gift and I feel blessed to be on this Messy journey together. God is so faithful and I am thankful for the opportunities we all have to creatively engage people in faith.

Helen Laird

Hi I am Helen Laird, I live in Worcester, I am a lifelong Methodist, and currently work as a Mission Enabler for the Church of England Worcester Diocese. I have been involved in Messy Church for about 15 years, and love the fact that God is in the glue and glitter.

Miriam Thurlow

I am an ordinand in the Church of England, and previously I was the Messy Church intern and have been involved in Messy Church since I was a teenager. One thing about me, I love all things food: talking about it, cooking it and especially eating it with other people!

Becky May

Is a freelance writer and trainer with a heart for children, young people and families. She is part of the leadership team of Wixams Church, a Messy Church plant on a new housing development.

David Mason

After retiring from a career in banking I started attending services at Lichfield Cathedral and was subsequently confirmed. I somewhat reluctantly agreed to help when they started a Messy Church but enjoyed it so much I have been helping to organize and run it for over five years.

Dawn Savidge

My Messy Church journey began over 5 years ago. I have trained Messy Church leaders in lots of different aspects of MC in the North for the past few years. For my day job I am a Children, Families and Young People Advisor both locally for the Leeds Diocese and nationally for Jesus Shaped People. Feel free to contact me.

Lydia Harrison

I have a passion for Messy Church, as I think it is really important to help everyone understand the love of God and what this can mean in their lives, and to build a relationship with him at home as well as at church. Prayer is a vital part of our life together.

Rachel Gotobed

Wife, Mum, Friend - just some of the names of who I am. Regional Specialist for Family Ministries (Salvation Army), Early Years Sunday School teacher, Messy Church Leader - just some of the titles of what I do. Autism advocate, cake baker, script writer - just some of the things that make me me!

Elaine Lambie

In addition to leading Messy Church in our village Comrades Club, I'm on a mission to make 'tidy church' much more messy! Nothing thrills me more than to see our traditional Sunday congregation, willingly engage with Messy Morning Worship, and joining in the conga as we lead out for coffee!

Tracey Fitzsimmons

Tracey is a Family Worker at Standish Methodist Church and a Schools and Family Worker with Wigan Methodist Circuit. She coordinates Messy Churches in the Methodist circuit and is excited about supporting more.

Trish Hahn

My name is Trish Hahn and I am the SEND Co-ordinator for Messy Church, I specialise in creating Messy Church resources for families who have children, teens with additional needs & disabilities. I love to be creative and try lots of new and exciting ideas.

Iain Nash

I am Children's Pastor at Southcourt Baptist Church in Aylesbury, Bucks and trustee responsible for The Treehouse Pre-School, which is an area of our community work at the Church. I also lead our Messy Church programme and have contributed to the Get Messy magazine.
